Baby it's cold outside ...

Have you ever just wanted to snuggle up to a fire and drink some hot cocoa, but couldn't because you don't have a fire place? Well, I have a solution ...We have a fire to keep us warm this year.

We discovered the Yule Log and thought we would share our fire with you. Enjoy!

Comcast On Demand offers this feature along with other fun tv backdrops. They even have options that play Christmas music. And doesn't it look festive on our new TV.

Deck the halls ...

Nick and I went to pick out our tree on Sunday night. We had just returned home from our Thanksgiving holiday in AL. I knew he was going out of town and I wanted a tree so we would at least have a few weeks to enjoy it before we went "home" for Christmas.

I was going to tackle the decorations myself, but my friend/decor savior, Michelle, came over and helped me "deck the halls".

She prides herself on being a professional! What do you think?

I LOVE IT!!! and my decoration scheme is going on three years old!

I like big ...

Sticks and I cannot lie...you other doggies can't deny...

Generation to generation ...

We, the Marler family, love southern cooking. My Maw Maw Marler has made sure of that.

My dad is the best breakfast cook in town. So, while we were home for Thanksgiving he taught me how to make his famous, homemade biscuits.

First, let me just tell you how much of an honor it is to be informed of such a secret process. He has made these biscuits for our family on Sunday mornings for years and years and it is only recently that he has decided to share his knowledge of biscuit making.

If I do say so myself...my first attempt was a success...my dad even used the words "pretty good" which is alot coming from him, trust me. I will not share the recipe, so you will just have to trust me, again, that they are the most amazing biscuits you will ever taste.

Rammer Jammer ...

Ahhh, it was such a great WIN. I am pooped.

Of course, I am speaking of a historic southern tradition...the Iron Bowl football game, Alabama vs. Auburn. My dad, Nick (bless his heart), ventured to Tuscaloosa in hopes of finding a "golden ticket", but fell short. Seems no one wanted to give up their seat. I watched the game at my Grannie's house with my Mama, Papa and Uncle Patch (Dachshund). We ate peanuts and everything.... At one point, my Papa yelled so loud it scared poor little Patch (who was sitting in Papa's lap) to death that he ran and hid under the Christmas tree.
The picture below is the pre game warm up. Me, Papa, and Patch are decked out in our game day garb geared up for the big game.

Oh, and I can't forget to include this picture of me smiling because I am soooo happy Bama won.
