Four Christmases ...

Literally!
I have yet to see the movie, but if it is anything like the Christmas we had this year...then I pretty much know the plot. Don't get me wrong, we had a wonderful week "at home" eating, spending time with family, eating, spending time with family...BUT, we were pooped. Here is our week in review.

It all began on Monday, December 22nd. We left Atlanta and headed to Birmingham.

December 23rd
We spend the morning at Grannie's (my parent's house) before heading to Trussville to spend the evening with Nick's family: Kathy (mom), Alli (sister), Rob (brother-in-law), John (nephew), Mitchell (brother) and Brittany (Mitchell's girlfriend).

We had a steak dinner along with shrimp which Kathy prepared as they do at the Japanese Hibachi Steak restaurants. I have included a video for your enjoyment. She has potential.

December 24th
We headed back to Trussville to have Christmas with Nick's extended family. We had dinner together, the young children opened presents, we read the Christmas story in the Bible, and sang Christmas carols by candlelight.

This was my 10th Christmas Eve spent with Nick's extended family at his grandparents home. It is always one of my fondest memories of the Holiday. His family is much larger than mine and now that there are little children that makes it even more exciting.

After all the gifts were opened and everyone had dinner we read the christmas story in the Bible (Luke 2: 1-20) and we also sang Christmas carols by candlelight.

These pictures are of John listening to the Christmas story being read and waiting on his candle to sing along with the Christmas carols. Mema provided real candles for the adults and little battery powered lights for the children.

We left Mema and Big Daddy's house and headed back to my parents house. When we arrived to my parents house we decided to watch National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. My family watches that movie every Christmas and it is always fun to laugh at Clark and especially Cousin Eddy.

December 25th
We spent the day with my family. We headed to Tuscaloosa around 10:30 after we had opened our gifts and ate breakfast.

We decided not to exchange gifts this year with my extended family. We were happy just spending the holiday together.

Nick and I had to leave my grandmothers house a little early so we could be back in Birmingham in time to have dinner with Nicks dad, Alan, and his family.

We made it and we were able to have a nice evening with them.
