No light

How do you explain to a 19 month old when something is broken? It's very challenging...

Be is really into lights. He discovered a big yellow flashlight a while back and we would play with it; turn it on and off, shine it on the wall and on the floor. Well, it decided to stop working. We didn't get rid of it because be thought that it just needed a new battery...well, so much for that. We got a new battery and it still doesn't work. I should have thrown it away because he sees it every time he is in the guestroom and wants to play with it and I have to explain that it is broken, or "no light" and give him another light to play with.

He found the flashlight this morning and here is his response to my "no light" explanation...At one point you see him look down. He is looking down at the yellow flashlight.

I hope I can find another big, yellow flashlight.

Also, we have layed to rest two toys that bit the dust this past week...the ever popular ball popper and the spinning race cars. Nick tried to revive the ball popper, but unfortunately it had seen its last pop. The race cars lazy suzann mechanism was put under too much strain since Bryant though it would be fun to sit on it and see if he would spin like the cars. Oh well, can't blame him for trying.

The ball popper video is from March. I don't have a video of the spinning cars, but I do have this picture of Bryant sitting on it which I believe to be the cause of its demise.
