And of course, he was fascinated by the automatic door. The staff were good sports...didn't mind him at all. They were so happy he was in a good mood.
We were finally called back to a Pre-Op area. They had a coloring book, bubbles and Curious George on the TV...
I attempted to put the gown on him, but he wouldn't have it. That is why he is shirtless. We colored and blew bubbles but he just spent a majority of the time rolling around on the floor...
In this picture he was saying...Go bye-bye...
We went to another pre-op area and had to leave as they took him to the operating room. This was were he would get his gas anesthesia, IV and breathing tube. He was very brave for the nurses. They wrapped him up in a blanket and rolled him away on the bed...sad :(
Nick found his own bed in the waiting room...
I was able to see on a computer screen his status. So, like when he moved from pre-op to op then op to post-op. It was neat. I saw him move from pre-op to op at 8:50 and we were taken back to see him in post op at 10.
I could hear him crying as we were walking back to the post op room. It was the worst part. My heart sank and all I could do was cry. The nurse carried him into the room and placed him in my lap. There was a recliner in our room. I sat in the chair first and held him in my lap. He was floppy and agitated with the IV in his arm. He would cry out and open his eyes and then they would just roll back in his head. He was flopping around so much he started falling out of my lap so Nick took over and he was able to snuggle in and sleep. He cried out a few times but really rested well...
Seeing your child in pain is the worst feeling because you are so helpless. All you can do is be there to hold them...

The nurses came in our room and encouraged us to wake him up. We completed our discharge paperwork and all we needed was for him to wake up and drink/swallow. They gave him a popsicle and it was too cold for him. So the nurse took it and made it into a slushy. He took too bites and we were out the door...
We were sure he would fall asleep in the car, but he didn't. He was awake the whole time and very curious as to why he still had his "stickers" on his leg. He stared at them the whole ride home.
We made it home just after 11:30. Ga-Ga sat on the couch with B and fed him jello. He ate three servings. The poor baby was starving. He got his pain medicine and then was ready for nap time at 1:00. We woke him up at 6:00 to see if he wanted to eat. He ate more jello and peas.
Tuesday he acted like nothing even happened to him, but Wednesday was a different story. He wouldn't eat or drink anything. I also had to hold him down to give him his medications....but hey, a moms gotta do what a moms gotta do!
He is doing alot better today, but you can tell when it's time for more pain medicine.
He is no longer snoring at night, which is weird because I can no longer hear him on the monitor. His voice has a nasally tone to it, which the Dr said would happen and he seems to be speaking a little louder. I guess that is due to his ears adjusting after having the tubes put in.
We will go back to the Dr in a month for his check-up.
