Gold Medal

Bryant had his Cobb County Special Education Preschool evaluation today.  He did a great job! and they gave him a shinny gold medal...

Nice...what our Education system can provide, right.  He deserves a lot more than a little plastic medal in my book.  He hit the lottery when I gave him a sucker!

At this time, based on his scores, the case manager says he will only be eligible for speech services.  You must indicate a severe delay to be eligible for services and speech is the only thing she felt sure he would receive services for.  I wasn't surprised at all...we were prepared for that to be so because it is a challenge to understand Bryant's words.  Actual eligibility and services will not be determined until his IEP (Individualized Education Program) meeting.  This meeting will happen sometime before his 3rd birthday.  So, again, we wait...Once his file is reviewed by all the powers that be they could offer more, but we will just have to wait and see.

And just another quick update.  I thought that we were on a waiting list to see a Pediatric Neurologist...well, I called yesterday to see what the status was and was informed that they did away with the waiting list.  I asked why I wasn't notified and the lady I spoke with said there were over 300 people on the waiting list and it was pointless.  She said for me to call 10/1 and that we could potentially get an appointment for January.  Bummer....NOT a happy momma.  She could tell that I wasn't thrilled and said she would call me if they had a cancellation.  I'm not going to hold my breath.

I cannot leave Bradley bear out.  He is doing so much.  He just started cruising around and he can even stand up on his own for a second or two...He is going to be my firecracker.

Making a mess...

Entertaining at OT today...
