5 months

I just realized the Bradley is 5 months old.  Golly, Gosh!

He is my little bear!  He is beginning to find his voice and I just love to hear him laugh.  He still smiles all over and is the most laid back kid.  He is grasping objects and putting them in his mouth.  Poor baby is fighting a cold...heck, we all are.

We tried baby food at 4 months...he wasn't ready.  First, was cereal...he spit that out.  Then was green beans, spit that out.  Then, apples, spit that out.  And finally, bananas, I was sure he would go for it, NO...spit those out too.  Oh, well.  No worries.  We'll try again soon.

Rice cereal...

and Green beans.  Icky!

In other news, Bryant will be having his adenoids and tonsils removed as well as tubes put in his ears on Monday, May 21st.  I am not looking forward to this at all even thought it is going to help him so much.  The adenoids and tubes shouldn't be a big deal...it's the tonsils that I am worried about most.  Be in prayer for us on this one.

That's all for now...

Easter and the week before...

As mentioned in previous blog posts, Bryant spent spring break with his Ga-Ga and Pap-Pap. I talked with my mom or would text with her daily making sure Bryant was being a good boy. And he always was.  Bryant had a blast and I know she did too. I think we are going to make this an annual thing.

Sunday afternoon outside

Night one, sleeping in his big boy bed
Mom's friend/neighbor bought this train for Bryant while he was visiting.  So sweet!

Playing with a neighbor, Emma.  Bryant said Emmy.

Nick and I headed to AL on Friday to pick B up.  It just happened to be Easter weekend.  So happy we were able to celebrate with our families. We had an Easter egg hunt at Nick's moms house on Saturday...

Poor Bradley...next year Bubba, next year!

All the kids in the things I made; shorts for the big boys, a john john for b and a dress for Isla

Easter Sunday! The Easter bunny left goodies for the boys...

Oh, and you can't forget the dreaded family picture. They are getting so hard to capture. The sun was in our eyes...can't you tell...

Rookie mistake...

You know that funny joke people tell about the difference between someone who is naked and someone who is necked...If you are naked you do not have clothes on. If you are necked you do not have clothes on and you are up to something. Well, my two year old was necked this morning and taught me the difference between someone who poops and someone who sh*ts...Can you guess the difference...You poop in a diaper. You sh*t on the floor, step in it, play in it, then walk across the carpet (with it all over your feet) to tell me about it....Uh, oh...

Yep, that's the difference. The rookie mistake was not putting a diaper on him after our shower this morning. It didn't even cross my mind since he had gone once this morning and I saw him pee in the shower...he thinks that is funny. I was getting dressed and the next thing I know he is next to me saying Uh, oh...wash hands.

Oh well, you live, you learn. Good thing I know the difference now.

Sorry if this is offensive to anyone, but again, I post these things so that I have a record of them. I had to post this because I do want to remember this and I do want Bryant to read this one day. He needs to know that I had to explain to him what happened, what he did and proceed to spend the next hour (or more) of my life cleaning it up. He needs to know that he followed me around repeating...Mommy, pick up poo-poo. And I would confirm and say, yes, mommy pick up poo-poo. Good times!

Big boy...

Bradley had his 4 month check up today. He is a whopping 18 lbs! and he is 26 1/4 inches tall. That puts him at 95% weight and 85% height. We are clear to start cereal, oatmeal, veggies and fruits as we see fit. His development is right on track too. Gross motor is good. He is rolling over...back to front. So, time to un-swaddle him at night. He is grasping objects and holding his head up and steady. He is still not great with tummy time, but Dr. says that if he rolls over he is ok to sleep that way. We'll see...

In the next few months he should start to sit up with support, which he can kinda do already...on your lap. He should also move objects from one hand to the other.

Bryant is spending this spring break week in AL with his Ga-ga and Pap-pap. He is having a ball. I'll post about that soon. So, its just been me and b this week. He has watched me sew, sew and sew some more. I would still be at it, but my machine broke. Thank goodness Ga-ga (my mom) is coming to my rescue. My 30th birthday is next month, so she got me a new machine. I can't wait! You can see what I've made here, mandymade.blogspot.com

Good times...

This picture is too funny not to share. Nick took Bryant with him to run a few errands Saturday morning. Nick put his hat on and Bryant had to have a hat. Nick couldn't find Bryant's actual hat, so the next best thing, Kermit. Gotta love it. Nick said he wore it the whole time...

Yesterday was Bryant's regular OT appointment. His therapist, Brittany, says that he is doing very well. I had to share this picture of Bryant from yesterday climbing this ladder...

Impressive!

This particular exercise helps with his motor planning...one foot in front of the other, then he has to turn around and come down. He uses every muscle in his body, especially his core strength. Brittany says he requests to climb on it every time his is back in that particular room. The sad part is he wants to do the exercise, but he gets scared and makes the most awful grunting noise when he is coming down...a little encouragement and he keeps on going.

Nick was home early yesterday and stayed home with Bradley while I took B to therapy. This is what they were doing...

It was so nice yesterday. I actually had a play date scheduled, but had to cancel it because I had to take B to the Dr to get checked out. I thought he had an ear infection, but turns out it is just a little cold which should pass in a couple days. I kept him inside the rest of the day because I don't want him to get worse...especially with how out of control this pollen is. Plus, his MMO Easter party is Thursday and I don't want him to miss it.

Bryant had is first real hair cut on Wednesday. I took him to this kiddy salon across the street, Snip-its. He did surprisingly well. I sat right in front of him and held on to a dumb-dumb sucker. He sucked on it and watched a movie and the stylist was able to cut, cut, cut. It was awesome. He didn't care for the clippers around his ears and neck. I had to hold him still at that point, but other than that he was a champ. I didn't get any pics inside the salon, but snagged this one on my phone in the car as we were leaving.

We like to go eat Mexican every couple of weeks. Bryant loves the chips and salsa. This particular visit he couldn't get enough...the sad part was the salsa was "hot". Bryant was miserable. He couldn't stop eating it because it was so good, but then he would feel the "hot" and chug his water. Poor kid...

That is an entire chip submerged in the salsa...he would eat it.

Bradley sitting with Nick...this is a funny picture. He looks like he is enjoying Nicks margarita...

Good times...
