When your expecting ...
Here is what I have figured out so far:
1. SICK
2. SICK
3. SICK
4. SICK
You get the picture, but it is all worth it when you see this:

That's our baby!!!!!!
Nick and I went to my first OB appt on March 30th and this is our baby's first picture. It's kind of hard to see what is what so I will do my best to describe it.
First, the image is magnified...If you follow the trail of dots to the (.) that is the baby's heart. Which was beating that day at 140 BPM. So, if you are a believer in old wives tails then our baby is a GIRL (Khaki must be praying hard). The wives tail is that if the heartbeat is >=140 BPM then it's a girl and if it's <140 BPM then it's a boy.
CRL is crown to rump length...so our baby was about the size of a jelly belly or sweet pea when this ultrasound was done. The crown is to the right of the heart...it is the black space. The rump is to the left of the heart and looks like a tail.
Nick and I go for my second OB appt on Thursday, 4/30. We are anxious to see how much the baby has grown. According to most websites the baby is the size of a lime and a little over an inch in length.
I am 11 wks and 1 day pregnant, today. My projected due date is 11/14/09, so I will be a stuffed turkey, literally...'tis the season, right.

John's BPM was always between 150 and 160, so don't make plans yet!
I can't wait for baby :) I'm going to spoil him/her rotten!
I just recently found your blog through Alli's, but I'm so happy that I can get to know you and Nick and keep up with what's going on through your posts!
To add to Alli's comment, both my boys maintained heart rates in the 150s throughout pregnancy, but at least you only have a couple months to go before you can find out for sure!
CONGRATULATIONS!
Congrats!! Joel and I are so happy for you guys!!
