Pregnancy Update

Family and friends,

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up of an urgent prayer request for me and Bradley. I am experiencing severe itching all over my body. My chest was itching yesterday and I just thought it was because of a body splash I used, but I woke up last night at 2:00 a.m. and was itching all over...really bad on my feet and neck. When I went to the Dr. yesterday for my 34 wk routine appointment I didn't mention my chest itching to the midwife because I didn't feel it was significant. However, I called my Dr. this morning just to be sure. Well, turns out I have to go to the Dr. tomorrow for an ultrasound and bloodwork to check for a condition called intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy.

Basically, it's a condition where my gall bladder and liver are not functioning properly to process bile causing it to leak into my bloodstream. I have all of the symptoms. The dark urine which I did ask the midwife about, but thought it was because I was dehydrated from being sick with a stomach bug last week and I am also on an iron supplement which could alter the color of your urine, so she just brushed it off.

My hope is that it is all just a side effect from swelling or I just have dry skin.

Please pray for us; Bradley's and my safety, healing if it is something, patience on waiting to hear about the bloodwork as it takes 24-48 hrs, a peace in knowing that God is going to take care of us.

P.S. If I do not go into labor on my own or there are no complications where the Dr. would take him early Bradley will be born December 9, 2011. I have scheduled my repeat C-Section for that day. The C-Section is scheduled for 12:45 p.m.
