Today's appointment

My computer sounds like it's about to take off...Goodness gracious!

Today's appointment went well. I had an ultrasound to make sure Bradley was doing good in the womb. I guess he got tired of laying on his right side and decided to switch to his left. She didn't get a good look at his face. It was kinda squished since he is getting ready to make his approach. His cord blood flow was good and heartbeat. She measured his head, tummy, femur bone, etc. and he measured bigger than from my last ultrasound so he is continuing to grow; he's approx 6-6.8 lbs. The tech said he could reach 8 lbs. if I went full term, but since I am not planning on that happening I'm still holding at 7 lbs 8 oz. She looked at my gall bladder and said there were no stones, so that's good. I didn't anticipate there would be, but at least she took the time to look. I saw a Dr. that I have never seen before. He was awkward. I hate that Dr.s are so awkward. I try to be light, bubbly, but I don't think they particularly care or notice. Oh well! He did check my cervix and it has thinned some but that's all so far. No update on my blood work so I assume that is a good thing. They would have definitely called if there was a negative change.

Next weeks appointments are Monday and Wednesday. Monday I will have an ultrasound and Wednesday a non-stress test. Continue to pray for a healthy baby and momma.

Hi, I happened on your blog via a friends blog and after reading you have cholestasis of pregnancy felt I had to comment. I also had it with my second child, Ella. It is scary all the things you read about it. My numbers went out of healthy range at 36 weeks and 5 days. my blood tests were Friday. They called me to tell me on Monday and they delivered that day. I was 37 weeks and 1 day. I know that the itching has to be driving you crazy, especially at night. One thing I did that helped a little was to keep a cold pack at my feet and I held one with my hands. I used one of those gel pack type things. ( my hands and feet itched the worst) I will be praying for you.
Also, so this doesn't come across so crazy, my name is Mary Katherine. I have two girls, graduated from auburn and I live in N. Alabama. As someone that experienced c of p, I would have loved to know that someone else had been in that boat with me. Since then I have meet several people that had it. Also, I did end up having my gall bladder removed about 7 months after my child was born.
Ok so I hope you are not totally weirder out by the random stranger comment. Again, praying for you and that sweet baby. It will go away pretty fast after delivery...there is relic in your future!! Ha!

Thank you Mary Katherine! I appreciate you leaving your comment. I have never heard of this until I was goggling in the middle of the night scratching my feet. I found out I had it this Monday and so far they have not determined to take the baby early so I guess that is a good thing. My blood levels are enough to show I have it but not enough to deem taking him early. I do have a sense that could change at any moment so I am just keeping a positive attitude and I know that God is watching over us. My itching really isn't that noticeable unless I get hot or think about it too much. It can be anywhere on my body at anytime. My feet haven't itched like they did last week, thank goodness because that was the most awful sensation. I understand that I will have to be monitored every week after he is born to make sure that everything goes back to a healthy state. Knowing an additional surgery could be in my future isn't something that makes me smile so I pray that it doesn't happen. I am on a medication that is supposed to help gall stones not to develop. Fingers crossed it works, because it is sure making my life miserable now. Terrible stomach cramps and upset tummy.

My last line meant to say relief not relic. Ha! Yes, I had the very severe stomach cramps as gall bladder attacks in the few months before I had mine removed. I actually got pulled over one day and I honestly thought I was getting a stomach virus and the cop asked where I was going in such a hurry and I said I think I am getting the stomach virus that is going around so I am trying to get home before I get sick. He about dropped my license trying to throw it back to me and told me to go on! Ha!
My doctor took Ella since my number went from in the normal range at like 10 or 12 to some where in the 30's over a weeks time. Out of range is over 14, I think.
They did not monitor me I don't think. But by the time I left the hospital I felt 100% better from the itching. Just had the c- section recovery to deal with.
I remember it was nerve wracking waiting on the doctor to decide for sure to take her at 37 weeks because I had already read the complications of c of p. Mine did like yours and waited on the numbers to really go up.
Again, praying for you!
