What to expect ...

When your expecting ...

Here is what I have figured out so far:

1. SICK

2. SICK

3. SICK

4. SICK

You get the picture, but it is all worth it when you see this:

That's our baby!!!!!!

Nick and I went to my first OB appt on March 30th and this is our baby's first picture. It's kind of hard to see what is what so I will do my best to describe it.

First, the image is magnified...If you follow the trail of dots to the (.) that is the baby's heart. Which was beating that day at 140 BPM. So, if you are a believer in old wives tails then our baby is a GIRL (Khaki must be praying hard). The wives tail is that if the heartbeat is >=140 BPM then it's a girl and if it's <140 BPM then it's a boy.

CRL is crown to rump length...so our baby was about the size of a jelly belly or sweet pea when this ultrasound was done. The crown is to the right of the heart...it is the black space. The rump is to the left of the heart and looks like a tail.

Nick and I go for my second OB appt on Thursday, 4/30. We are anxious to see how much the baby has grown. According to most websites the baby is the size of a lime and a little over an inch in length.

I am 11 wks and 1 day pregnant, today. My projected due date is 11/14/09, so I will be a stuffed turkey, literally...'tis the season, right.

Run ...

Nick, Run ...

Nick participated in the Georgia ING Half Marathon (13.1 miles) on Sunday, March 29th.

He trained for 7 weeks in preparation for this event. He was very disciplined and followed a strict regimen. He also ate tons and tons of pasta among other healthy delights.

We would get up every morning and exercise (cardio and weights) and he would do his longer runs on the weekends.

Here are some before, during and after pictures.

AFTER

Nicks time was 1:57 which is AMAZING!!!! That is about 9 min./mile and he even stopped to pee. Wow! I'm so proud.

I'm a Dixie Girl, in a Dixie World ...

Well, here we are in '09 and today we were hit with some serious SNOW! Mom and Dad were late getting home, so I was just sitting by the window waiting to go out and play.

This is the second or third time we have seen snow in Atlanta, but this is by far the most accumulation.

Here I am ready to go ...

I hope you enjoy these short videos of me playing in the snow. I LOVED it!

A Medieval Valen-time ...

Nick and I went to Medieval Times with our friends, Shane and Lindsay Dietrich. Neither of us had been and heard it was something you had to do. So, Lindsay made the reservations and we went...on Valentines Day.

We were crowned when when arrived and treated with the utmost chivalry. We were given red carnations and were deemed "Good Sir" and "My Lady". We were yelled at by our waiter (not mean, had to for all to hear). We were asked to eat with our hands (no utensils available in those days) and we ate off of metal plates and drank out of metal mugs (were not to be used to make sound effects). Our meal consisted of the following: Tomato Bisque Soup, Half Roasted Chicken, Ribs, Baked Potato, and Apple Pie (kind of like you get at McDonald's...it was delicious!). We were on the "Blue" Knights team. Which is the color crown we were given when we arrived. Other knights: Yellow, Red and Yellow, Black and White, Green (mean, enemy), and Red.
The tournament and games were great, but the highlight for me was seeing the AMAZING horses. That was my favorite part. I hope you enjoy the pictures. It really was a great Valentines Day.

Mov'in on Up ...

Well, it is finally here. Spanx is moving to its new home in Buckhead. We are so fortunate to be moving to one of the most luxurious new high rises in Buckhead, the Sovereign.

We are occupying the 17th and 18th floors.

The ribbon cutting ceremony was Thursday evening with champagne for all to celebrate this historic occassion.

Here are Sara (owner) and Laurie Ann (CEO) standing at the main entrance on the 17th floor ready to cut the ribbon and let us see our new digs.

We first stepped into the main entrance on the 17th floor...made are way around and then snuck up to 18 to see the rest.

My team, product development, will live on the 18th floor. It is soooo nice!!!! Can't wait 'till Tuesday, our first day.

Here is my new cubie and the really pretty light fixture above:

Here are Michelle and I in our new cubie's:

A room with a view ...

This is the view from our design room. WOW!

More pics to come when I have a real camera with me. These were taken with my camera phone.
